++ God is Never Far ++

Lately I have felt that I have strayed from the spiritual path. That I have been too engrossed in worldly pursuits, and neglected to do those things that truly nourish the soul. Looking back, I did so much more in my youth, whether it was volunteering, reading the Scriptures, learning languages, or connecting to others.

Then I wondered if God despises the state I am in now? Will God forgive, or will He forsake me for I have strayed?

In the moment of emptiness, I opened my Qur'aan app (that had been untouched for a while) for its random "Verse of the Day". And I cried when I read,

"We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein." - Al Qur'aan 50:16
